How soft-close doors work
Once the latch engages at its first position, the electric drive smoothly pulls it fully closed. The system does not close a wide-open door; it completes only the final part of the movement.
This Volvo version requires the original rear-door child-lock system. This requirement is specified by the supplier for set WEWDX021 DZ.

Plug-to-plug connections leave the original wiring intact. The standard mechanism is replaced with a vehicle-specific lock that adds smooth soft-closing.

No. You close the door until the latch engages, and the system completes the final part of closing. Keep your fingers clear of the gap between the door and bodywork while it operates.
